I love

running into five of your guy friends who are dressed to the nines and headed out for a boys' night. and here i thought only girls liked to play dress up.

a three-year old sister comforting her one-year old sister (who is inconsolable because she woke up and mommy wasn't home) by hugging her, kissing her, and making silly faces.

a one-year old sister throwing her tiny arms around her older, braver sister.

singing "mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy..." to little sisters the way my dad used to sing it to me when i was younger whenever i was sad or crying.

realizing that some things always hold true, such as the power of mareseatoatsanddoeseatoats to make any child smile and laugh.

enjoying high school musical 3 more than all the 8-12 year olds in the audience to whom the film was actually targeted.

a husband literally having his breath taken away by his beautiful wife, even after so many years of marriage.

planning a skit and giggling endlessly instead of getting through any of our lines.

my mom's voice on the other end of the line when she realizes it's me calling.

my dad's chuckle when he thinks i'm being clever.

remembering that there is still more good than bad in this life, and that even the bad can eventually turn into good. remembering to give thanks.

**all this in one day. i love days like this.**
