At Dawn and Eve

(This poem was written during a study of God Passes By for the occasion of Naw Ruz 164.  Shout out to my dad who collaborated with me on editing this one:))

At Dawn and Eve

We fall in love in old Shiraz
And pray for justice in Chihriq
We hold the forts at Tabarsi
And tear down veils at grand Badasht
We fan the flame in Karbila
And spread the fire in Kirmanshah
We hail the heroine of Zanjan
And mourn the martyrs of Nayriz
We feel the breeze in Isfahan
And weep with sorrow in Tabriz

We feel Your Glory in Tehran
And drink your pain in Kurdistan
We pray for warmth in Istanbul
And welcome friends in Mazra'ih
We tend to gardens at Bahji
And bathe in light all Mt. Carmel
We kneel for You on holy ground
And teach Your cause in all the land
We raise Your call at dawn and eve
And praise Your Name eternally.
